The welcome offer is your most generous moment with a new customer — and your most exploitable. Serial farmers turn “one great deal for a first-timer” into an assembly line, claiming it again and again behind a stream of accounts that each look brand new.
Welcome bonuses exist to acquire real bettors, but the same open-arms economics that attract customers attract farmers. The difference between the two is not the offer they claim; it is how many times, and how connected the accounts are.
How offer farming works
Farming is a volume game built on making one person look like many first-time customers:
- Serial re-registration. The farmer opens account after account, each with a fresh email, a tweaked name, and a new phone number, claiming the welcome offer every time.
- Payment cycling. Deposits run through a rotating set of cards, e-wallets, or crypto addresses to dodge simple payment-duplicate checks.
- Minimum-qualifying play. Each account does just enough to unlock and extract the bonus, then goes dormant.
- Organized farms. At scale, farmers rent devices, proxies, and even purchased identities to industrialize the process.
To identity-based controls, every account is a new customer. To device and payment intelligence, they are the same operator wearing different masks.
Signals that link the farm
The accounts a farmer controls are only superficially distinct. Underneath, they share the things that are expensive to vary:
- A stable visitorId ties many “new customers” back to a handful of devices, exposing the farm’s real size.
- Payment clustering links accounts through shared or sequentially numbered instruments and convergent withdrawal destinations.
- Behavioral sameness — identical qualify-and-extract lifecycles, the same minimum stakes, the same dormancy afterward.
- Registration timing bunched around offer launches, from a narrow device and network footprint.
Prynt’s persistent device identity is what collapses the illusion. When forty welcome-bonus claims resolve to five devices, the farm is visible at signup instead of after the promo budget is gone. Our multi-accounting detection approach links accounts through the signals farmers cannot easily change, so serial signups surface as one operator rather than a crowd.
The network layer
Running many accounts means running many sessions someone would rather not have connected, so farmers reach for anonymizing infrastructure. Signups from datacenter IPs, residential proxies, or rotating VPN exits are common in industrialized farming. That connectivity is not proof by itself — plenty of new customers use a VPN — but anonymized connections combined with device clustering and payment cycling form a signature genuine acquisition does not produce.
Protecting welcome offers without friction
The trick is to stay generous to real first-timers while starving the farm:
- Fingerprint before the offer unlocks. Capture a visitorId at registration so a device already tied to prior welcome claims is caught before the bonus is granted.
- Gate the bonus, not the account. Where evidence is moderate, restrict promo eligibility rather than blocking the signup outright — this protects genuine customers who share a household device.
- Reconcile against extraction. Delay full bonus availability until an account shows real, sustained play, and claw back on qualify-and-die patterns.
- Escalate clear farms. When many claims resolve to few devices with cycling payments, treat it as coordinated abuse and act on the operator.
Applied this way, a first-time bettor on a shared family laptop still gets a smooth welcome, while the operator claiming their fortieth bonus does not.
Welcome offers are worth defending because they work — for real customers. Persistent device identity and payment linkage let you keep spending generously on acquisition without funding an assembly line. See the signals in our playground or compare tiers on our pricing page.
